The goal of this course is to provide engineers with a better understanding of axial compressor design through theoretical lectures and hands-on workshops using the AxSTREAM Platform, in order to help them find new, more accurate and efficient axial compressors, troubleshoot, upgrade and optimize existing designs, and more. Topics of interest include description of what axial compressors are, how they fit into thermodynamic systems like gas turbine engines, gas dynamics, stage losses, velocity triangles and aerodynamic, performance maps (including stall, surge and choke), stress analyses and more.

In addition to the course contents, all paid registrants will receive a trial software license of AxSTREAM EDU to supplement the subject matter.
